About Us

The Fort Lauderdale Hand Clinic (FLHC) was founded in 1981 and is a private, therapist-owned, outpatient hand therapy facility specializing in the treatment of patients who have had surgery, disease or injury involving the upper extremity including the hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, upper arm and shoulder areas.

Robin E. Miller, OTR/L, CHT

Owner, Clinical Director

Robin received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida.  She is a founding member of the American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT) and became Certified in Hand Therapy in 1991 at the inception of certification.  Her formative years were spent working at Jackson Memorial Hospital with William E. Burkhalter, MD.  She remains an active member of ASHT and has served on the Board of Directors.  She Chaired the Denver Annual Meeting in 2015.  She is the Owner/Clinical Director of the Fort Lauderdale Hand Clinic which was founded in 1981.

Martha I. Handler, OTD, OTR/L, CHT

Martha has worked as an occupational therapist since 1978 and has been a certified hand therapist since 1991. She graduated from Tufts University - Boston School of Occupational Therapy and began her career in occupational therapy at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. In 2003, she earned her doctorate in occupational therapy from Nova Southeastern University.

Ashley Solomon, OTR/L, CHT

Ashley completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Miami, later receiving her Masters in Occupational Therapy from the University of Florida and an advanced practice certificate in Hand and Upper Quarter Rehabilitation from Drexel University. In 2014 she became a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association as well as the American Society of Hand Therapists. She has practiced for seven years in Washington, D.C. at the Medstar National Rehabilitation Network which is affiliated with a Level I trauma hospital, specializing in the evaluation and treatment of upper extremity injuries, particularly polytrauma and complex elbow injuries.
